I'd heard about Fluid Vapor from a handful of customers. Their website is at fluidvaper.com or fluidvapor.com. They have a storefront in Bohemia, NY.
I wasn't far from the area this evening, so I thought I'd swing by. I'd called to make sure they were open, and they were. I meant to ask what their regular store hours are (or if they have regular hours), but I forgot.
Anyway, long story short, Fluid Vapor was great. They've got a good selection of attys, cartos, tanks, etc, as well as vmax's, evics, epipes, and other mods. They have egos of course. They also have mod batteries. Definitely AW and Efest, maybe some others too.
They two guys working there, who I believe were the owners and whose names have already slipped my mind, were very friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to be able to talk about vaping in person with people who know what they're talking about. It's also nice when vendors know their products.
They carry a good selection of liquid too, which they'll mix for you in any strength and pg/vg ration. They told me I could sample any flavors I wanted to, but since I was already out of the house when I decided to go here, I only had a carto tank with me and nothing to drip into. So, they opened a new atty for me and threw it on a BAM (I think it was the BAM) so I could try the liquids. I vape mostly just DIY and I haven't bought vendor juice in ages, but I was itchin for something new, and I'm all for supporting local vendors. I'm also just about out of my last batch of DIY, and haven't had the motivation to mix lately.
I ended up picking up a 30ml of Velvet, one of their two tobacco flavors. It's good. I like it a lot, actually. It's a sweet, smooth, mild tobacco. It's pretty similar to some of my DIY. I got 16mg, and it has a nice throat hit. The sample I tried was 12mg, and that had a decent TH too. The flavor is kind of like a light RY4 type. I think it was $15 for 30ml. They mix it on the spot in the strength and ratio you want.
They have a lounge area and a huge projection TV too.
I picked up a couple of Kanger MT3's too, and I'm digging them so far. Hadn't tried any clearos since the stardust's, which didn't win me over, but so far these are pretty nice.
Anway, all in all Fluid Vapor is great store. Being that I DIY and that I order my cartos by the cartons, I don't have much need for a vape shop. However, having somewhere fairly local to go to bullshit about vaping and to check out new products in person, is very cool.
