Default Equal as a sweetener for juice

Been mixing for a couple weeks or so. Got some nic juice, pg, vg, and some flavors from Perfumers apprentice (black cherry, kona coffee, vanilla and chocolate).

I use a spreadsheet that has been posted to get the right mg/ml, and all is well, to a point. I mixed a batch of black cherry, and can taste it, but it's very harsh tasting, not sweetness to it at all. Reading others posts of their recipes I see sweeteners mentioned, which I don't have, yet.

I was out to dinner last night, and on the table was a bowl of equal packets. I pocketed one, and when I got home I mixed the equal with 30 ml of plain pg in a bottle. Had to nuke it for a few seconds to warm it enough to dissolve. I let it cool a bit, then added 3 ml of this to a 30 ml bottle of the black cherry I mixed. It made a big difference in the taste, and so far no ill effects on the attie. I've only been vaping it a few hours so far.

Has anyone else tried this, and will it gunk up the attie eventually?

Equal is full of fillers and binders, which is why it took so much to dissolve it.

Personally, I'd recommend working with liquid sucralose rather than aspartame+dextrose powder. There was a big movement among DIY'ers (at least on ECF, not sure if it has really carried here) using Splendex brand liquid sucralose. They were suggesting minute quantities (1-2 drops per bottle of e-liquid) and it mixes readily.

Thanks Raenon, the liquid seems the way to go. I only tried the equal because it was right in front of me when I thought about mixing it with pg. Going food shopping later, I'll look for both sucralose and splendex

I honestly don't know if splendex brand is sold in stores, but I think there is other liquid splenda available. Just check to see what _else_ is in it.
You could probably use regular dry splenda too, for that matter, but I'd still double check for binders.

Still, good on you for experimenting

-edit- I also wanted to point out that splenda/splendex are both brand names for sucralose products, just in case anyone reading along wasn't familiar with the sucralose term otherwise.

    Capella's carries this:

Super Sweet is a clear liquid sweetener made entirely from Sucralose, you know Sucralose best in it's powder form called Splenda®.

Super Sweet is so concentrated that "1 drop" delivers the sweetness of 1 teaspoon of sugar.

Each 15ml bottle of Capella Super Sweet contains over 450+ drops!

Capella Super Sweet holds up very well under heat so it's perfect for cooking, baking, desserts or beverages.

•Convenient 15ml squeeze bottle for ultimate portability
•Dissolves instantly in any food or beverage
•Tastes like sugar, because it's made from Sugar
    •Great for diabetics

I've never tried it, and I don't know if $9.95 for .5fl is a good deal, but there you go

Splendex is $9.95 for 1fl oz, and goes down from there. So at worst, half the cost of capella.
On the other hand, "splendex.net" doesn't sell anything else, whereas capella's sells many flavors...

If I used capella's flavors, I'd definitely order my sweetener from them with the rest of an order.

Ew, that does seem pricey then. Capella's usually has coupon codes here on their site http://capellaflavordrops.com/capellacouponcodes.aspx , so those will help a bit if people are placing a bigger order, at least.

I have been using SteviaClear Liquid by SweetLeaf, I bought mine at Kroger's Supermarket but it is available at Amazon and other place's too. At Amazon it is $13.63 for 4oz. It has a very, very sweet taste like sugar, but much sweeter. It is all natural also.It also comes in several different flavors. It does not or has not clogged any of my P.V.'s atty's . It really makes everything taste better. http://www.amazon.com/Stevia-Extract...=pd_sbs_gro_54
